Saksi Sejarah AMARAH : UMI Jangan Sampai Kehilangan Identitas
Makassar, cakrawalaide.com – Saksi sejarah AMARAH angkat bicara mengenai keluarnya aturan buku saku tahun 2018 pasal 26, dan keluarnya surat edaran nomor : 1161/F.01/UMI/IV2019 berisikan pelarangan memperingati AMARAH, serta meliburkan civitas akademika Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) pada 24 – 25 April 2019.
Seperti apa yang diungkapkan Wakil Rektor (WR) III, Prof Laode Husain, Bahwa peringatan AMARAH dilarang, dan akan diberikan sanksi bagi mahasiswa
“Dalam upaya menjaga nama baik dan ketertiban di kampus UMI, aksi demonstrasi dan perayaan amarah itu di larang, dianggap tidak bermanfaat, bagi yang melanggar akan kami berikan sanksi sesuai aturan yang berlaku,” ucapnya saat ditemui awak cakrawalaide.com di kampus II UMI, Jumat (12/2019).
Ir. Ikhwan Aco Syamsuddin, ST alumni FT-UMI (angkatan 1988), mengungkapkan bahwa dirinya prihatin atas sikap rektorat kampus, dengan aturan yang dikeluarkan.
“Pertama saya tidak setuju dengan pelarangan-pelarangan yang menghalangi mahasiswa, untuk menyampaikan ekspresinya karna kampus itu adalah lembaga kontrol, baik dalam maupun luar kampus, hrusnya UMI ini tidak kehilangan identitas,” tegasnya di Warkop Sminle, Rabu, (23/04/19).
Lanjut, Aco juga menambahkan, bahwa UMI itu sudah di ketahui sebagai lembaga kontrol paling kuat di makassar bahkan di Indonesia,
“UMI sudah terlalu berorientasi kepada praktek – praktek materialis, dan tidak berorientasi pada pengembangan kognitif mahasiswa, sehingga mahasiswa ini ditakut – takuti dengan ancaman skorsing, dan lain lain,” tutup Alumni FT-UMI tersebut.
