Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com – Puluhan massa aksi yang mengatasnamakan diri Solidaritas Makassar untuk Papua menyerukan berikan hak menentukan nasib sendiri bagi bangsa West Papua lewat referendum.
Massa aksi bergerak dari Lapangan Karebosi menuju depan Monumen Mandala, di Jl. Jendral Sudirman, Senin (26/08/2019).
“Papua?” pekik jendral lapangan, Albert.
“Merdeka!” sahut massa aksi
“Referendum?” teriak Albert lagi
“Yes!” jawab massa aksi lagi.
Menurut humas aliansi persoalan rasialisme yang terjadi di asrama mahasiswa Papua di Surabaya, hanyalah sebagian kecil dari kejadian besar di West Papua. Pokok permasalahan menurutnya adalah tidak adanya pelibatan rakyat Papua dalam perjanjian New York Agreement 1962.
“Persoalan rasisme hanyala isu kecil yang berasal dari isu besar yang juga merupakan hulunya, yakni tidak adanya demokratisasi di bumi Papua yang berujung kolonialisme. Makanya tuntutan kita hari ini adalah solusi demokratis untuk bangsa West Papua yaitu dengan referendum,” tutur Aan selaku humas.
Senada dengan itu, salah satu peserta aksi menegaskan bahwa referendum merupakan hak bagi bangsa West Papua berlandaskan Undang-undang No.12 tahun 2005 tentang Hak-hak sipil dan Politik.
“Semua bangsa berhak menyatakan referendum, maka yang kita perjuangkan adalah hal yang benar. Berangkat dari kejadian rasial yang terjadi di Surabaya, itu kemudian terakumulasi mulai dari Papua masuk Indonesia bukan karena keinginannya. Mari kita periksa sejarah dan peraturan yang ada kalau tidak percaya,” pungkas Fikram dalam orasinya.
Aksi yang berlangsung hingga pukul 15.30 WITA ini berjalan dengan kondusif meskipun sempat ada kelompok ormas yang coba membubarkan paksa massa aksi, tetapi aparat membuat barikade agar tak terjadi bentrokan antar massa.
