Sebuah Parade dalam Merefleksikan AMARAH

Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com – Sebuah parade telah dilakukan oleh Sejumlah Mahasiswa Universitas Muslim Indonesia dalam memperingati tragedi April Makassar Berdarah (AMARAH). Dengan mengarak tiga patung yang dikenakan Almamater hijau, Kemudian disusul oleh sejumlah massa yang berpakaian serba hitam, lalu menyisir setiap fakultas yang ada didalam kampus II UMI, sebagai bentuk menolak lupa akan mahasiswa yang menjadi korban dalam tragedi AMARAH. Senin (22/04/2024)
Dikutip dari CakrawalaIde.com, Kronologi April Makassar Berdarah (AMARAH) 1996, “Sejarah dari AMARAH sendiri berawal dari keluarnya kebijakan pemerintah tentang kenaikan tarif angkutan umum dengan keluarnya SK MENHUB pada 3 April 1996. Kemudian ditindaklanjuti oleh SK Walikota Makassar (Dulu Ujung Pandang) No.900 tentang penyesuaian tarif angkutan kota, dari Rp 300 menjadi Rp 500 untuk penumpang umum, bagi mahasiswa dan pelajar Rp 200. Karena dianggap terlalu tinggi bagi masyarakat maka diadakanlah konsolidasi membahas masalah itu. Dibuatlah Forum Pemuda Indonesia Merdeka (FPIM). Berujung pada aksi demonstrasi besar-besaran.”
Tahun Ini AMARAH kembali diperingati dalam bentuk berParade dengan arak-arakan mengelilingi kampus II UMI. Dimana Massa aksi pada jam 13:30 WITA berkumpul didepan Fakultas Agama Islam sebagai titik awal dimulainya Parade.
Akmal selaku peserta parade menyampaikan tujuan parade tahun ini adalah untuk kembali mengingat tragedi AMARAH yang dulunya pernah terjadi, dan ini juga sebagai bahan renungan bagi mahasiswa baru, yang mungkin baru tahu apa itu April Makassar Berdarah
“Hari ini mahasiswa, khususnya mahasiswa baru ada yang tidak pernah memikirkan dan mengetahui perihal apa itu AMARAH, bagaimana tragedinya dan jalan ceritanya seperti apa. Makanya kami memiliki tujuan bagaimana memantik mahasiswa untuk mengetahui dan merenungi tragedi AMARAH yang pernah terjadi dikampus kita ini, dengan melalui parade ini saya berharap mahasiswa ingin ikut bersama kami menyuarakan tragedi 96 ini.” Ungkap Akmal
Seperti Peringatan AMARAH tahun-tahun sebelumya ada empat mahasiswa yang menjadi aktor dalam parade ini dengan mengenakan pakaian serba hitam, tiga orang membawa patung yang dikenakan almamater UMI yang menandakan tiga mahasiswa yang menjadi korban pada tragedi Amarah 96 dan satu lainnya sebagai pembawa payung.
Ilham salah satu mahasiswa yang dijumpai pada saat parade mengungkapkan maksud dari arak-arakan patung kali ini ialah, bahwa ini untuk mengingat kembali kalau di April tahun 1996 pernah ada mahasiswa yang menjadi korban akibat aparat yang memaksa masuk ke dalam kampus sehingga menyebabkan tiga mahasiswa UMI menjadi korban.
“Sebenarnya arak-arakan patung dalam Parade kali ini adalah bentuk untuk mengingat kembali bahwa di April tahun 1996 pernah ada mahasiswa yang tewas akibat aparat yang memaksa masuk ke kampus sehingga menyebabkan tiga mahasiswa UMI meninggal” ucap ilham
Adapun isu yang disoroti dalam peringatan AMARAH kali ini adalah adanya pelanggaran Hak Asasi Manusia yang sampai saat ini belum selesai
Adam selaku salah satu orator mengungkapkan isu yang dibawa kali ini terkait dengan pelanggaran HAM yang terjadi di kampus UMI 24 april 1996.
“Isu-isu yang kami bawa tentunya terkait dengan pelanggaran HAM yang terjadi di kampus kami tepatnya 24 April 1996, yang kami sebut sebagai AMARAH. Kita tahu bahwa tragedi itu merenggut nyawa 3 mahasiswa yang diakibatkan oleh Tindakan-tindakan bengis dari militer.” Ungkap Adam
Adam juga menyebutkan saat ini belum ada respon dari pihak kampus perihal AMARAH untuk Parade kali ini.
“Sejauh ini belum ada respon dari pihak kampus terkait parade kami hari ini, Kami mungkin akan melakukan pembicaan kembali dengan pihak kampus terkait tragedi berdarah ini, dan selain pihak kampus kami juga akan menuntut aparat yang berwenang untuk menuntaskan pelanggaran HAM dimasalalu, terlebih tragedi AMARAH UMI ini.”
