Cakrawalaide.com – Kritik adalah awal munculnya kesadaran baru, apalagi terhadap sesuatu yang telah berjalan semakin lama nyaris tanpa kritik, seperti demokrasi. Dengan metode kritik berbalas kritik, untuk dapat memahami dan mendudukkan demokrasi, ternyata tidak hanya cukup dengan pendekatan emosional. Diperlukan pemikiran yang objektif dan mendalam untuk dapat memahami demokrasi.
Pada bab pertama buku ini mejelaskan sejarah demokrasi yang di mana demokrasi lahir sebagai solusi dari dominasi gereja yang otoriter dan absolut sepanjang abad pertengahan (X-XV M). Sepanjang abad pertengahan raja yang mengatasnamakan wakil tuhan di bumi secara semena-mena memaksakan kehendeknya, serta menghukum siapa saja yang berani menentang aturannya. Bahkan raja dan gereja membuat alat-alat penyiksaan mengerikan untuk menentang orang-orang yang berani menentang aturan yang berlaku.
Selain itu, melihat sistem demokrasi yang lahir dan dibesarkan oleh sekulerisme, maka kita bisa memahami antara demokrasi dan sekulerisme yang mempunyai kesamaan yaitu menihilkan peran agama dalam kehidupan. Jika sekulerisme memiliki prinsip pemisahan agama dan kehidupan, maka demokrasi menjelaskan tentang prinsip secara konsisten dalam ranah politik, yaitu dengan mencabut peran Allah SWT sebagai pembuat hukum. Maka ketika kita berbicara tentang demokrasi, kita tidak terlepas dari substansinya yaitu kedaulatan rakyat yang di mana rakyat berhak memilih pemimpinnya dan memilih aturannya yang mereka inginkan. Tanpa kedaulatan rakyat, ini demokrasi tidak memiliki arti sama sekali namun substansinya berupa kedulatan rakyat pasti tetap ada dan tidak mungkin akan dihilangkan.
Masuknya demokrasi ke dunia islam justru mampu memadukan hubungan keduanya dengan sangat harmonis, karena islam tidak pernah memisahkan antara agama dan kehidupan bahkan negara adalah bagian dari agama dan agama tidak akan tegak sempurna tanpa negara. Islam menyebut pemimpin seluruh umat islam ini sebutan khalifah dan negara disebut sebagai negara khalifah, secara historis khalifah mampu menciptakan peradaban gemilang yang sangat kondusif dan bersahabat dengan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Di samping bertentangan dengan Al-Quran dan As-sunnah yang mewajibkan berislam secara kaffah, islam tidak pernah mengalami traumatik akibat perseteruan berdarah antara agama dan negara sebagaimana yang pernah dialami oleh barat.
Lanjutan di bab kedua menjelaskan tentang kejahatan demokrasi, yang di mana kita sudah punya alasan kuat untuk membuangnya karena kalau kita masih menerima sistem demokrasi, itu sama saja kita menganggap sejarah berdarah. Karena abad pertengahan adalah sejarah umat islam juga sehingga sejarah kelam tersebut harus disembuhkan dengan sekulerisme dan demokrasi. Tidak ada alasan sama sekali untuk mengadopsi demokrasi jika umat islam masih bersikeras untuk menerima sistem demokrasi, itu sama saja dengan umat islam bersikeras diterapi untuk sakit yang mereka tidak derita.
Prinsip utama demokrasi adalah kedaulatan yang di mana rakyat diberi hak untuk membuat undang-undang serta memilih pemimpin untuk menjalankan undang-undang yang telah dibuat dan disahkan. Dibuatlah mekanisme pemilu karena dengan mekanisme pemilu rakyat dapat memilih calon anggota legislatif yang akan duduk di sebuah lembaga yang bertugas menetapkan hukum dan undang-undang. Kembali ke demokrasi ia hanya menjadikan sesuatu itu legal atau ilegal, jika disetujui oleh mayoritas manusia yang duduk di parlemen. Hukum-hukum agama yang sudah jelas halal-haramnya dan tinggal dijalankan, bagi demokrasi tetap harus melalui musyawarah dan voting untuk dapat disahkan jadi hukum negara.
Di bab ketiga yaitu mejelaskan tentang menjawab argumen yang membela demokrasi, sekalipun jelas-jelas demokrasi jahat karena mencampakan Allah serta menyuburkan korupsi berjamaah tetapi masih ada yang menyakini bahwa demokrasi itu baik, bahkan menurut mereka demokrasi sama sekali tidak bertentangan dengan islam. Tidak hanya itu, demokrasi justru bisa dimanfaatkan untuk kebaikan dan kemenangan islam. Partai politik islam yang masuk parlemen ini hampir selalu ada di negara islam, ini membuktikan bahwa argumen demokrasi baik dan tidak bertentangan dengan islam atau demokrasi sebagai jalan kebangkitan islam. Dukungan mereka terhadap demokrasi bukan tanpa dasar, banyak di antaranya yang mengutip dalil-dalil Al-Qur’an maupun As-Sunnah, ada sepuluh argumen yang mengatakan tentang demokrasi baik dan tidak bertentangan dengan islam yaitu demokrasi hanya masalah semantik, demokrasi netral dan hanya sebagai alat, bagaimana jika parlemen dikuasai oleh orang-orang kafir, demokrasi ibarat perang politik (jihad siyasi), tegakan syariat bertahap melalui demokrasi, demokrasi memiliki kesamaan dengan islam, suara mayoritas demokrasi sesuai islam, kompromi demokrasi dan perjanjian hudaibiyah, demokrasi ibarat mata uang, pembenaran demokrasi mencontoh Nabi Yusuf.
Sebagian umat islam memahami demokrasi tidak identik dengan kekufuran dan kesyirikan, mereka menilai orang-orang yang meyakini demokrasi syirik hanya melihat dari aspek tekstual-semantik saja, dan melupakan aspek kontekstual-substansinya. Mempersoalkan semantik versus substansi pada hal-hal yang jelas-jelas haram absurd, seperti absurdnya mempersoalkan semantik versus substansi pada haramnya prostitusi. Kita tidak akan mempedulikan pengertian semantik apa pun yang disematkan pada praktek legislasi apakah demokrasi atau masyarakat madani, jika faktanya menjadikan manusia sebagai pembuat hukum maka tetap syirik dan kufur. Berdasarkan dalil-dalil yang sudah dijelaskan di bab-bab awal dan kedua yaitu hak penetapan hukum adalah milik Allah semata, bahkan hal ini bagian dari keimanan yang tidak boleh diingkari. Dengan penjelasan dari beberapa argumen yang membela demokrasi, kesimpulannya demokrasi tetap jahat dan bertentangan dengan islam karena kejahatan demokrasi yang paling besar adalah mencapakkan Allah sebagai pembuat hukum, sehingga menjadikan demokrasi sebagai sistem kufur.
Pada bab keempat buku ini menjelaskan bagaimana mencegah kejahatan demokrasi, setelah kita mengetahui sejarah kelahiran dan kejahatan demokrasi serta menjawab tuntas berbagai argumen yang membela demokrasi. Ada tiga cara untuk mencegang kejahatan demokrasi yaitu berlepas diri dari sistem demokrasi, memahami islam kaffah dalam bingkai khilafah, berdakwah meneladani Rasulullah mewujudkan islam kaffah. Sebagai umat muslim yang mendedikasikan seluruh hidupnya seluruh hidupnya untuk ibadah serta meraih ridha Allah, maka tidak ada pilihan lain kecuali meninggalkan demokrasi dengan cara melepaskan diri dan meninggalkan jauh-jauh segala hal yang menjadi manifestasi demokrasi.
Prinsip utama demokrasi adalah kedaulatan rakyat, rakyatlah yang menetukan peraturan perundang-undangan, serta rakyatlah yang memilih pemimpin. Lalu bagaimana rakyat yang jumlahnya bisa mencapai ratusan juta bisa menetapkan undang-undang dan memilih pemimpin dengan lancar, maka buatlah mekanisme pemilu karena melalui pemilu rakyat memilih pemimpin untuk menjalankan undang-undang (legislatif), serta memilih pemimpin untuk menjalankan undang-undang tersebut (eksekutif). Kemudian para calon anggota legislatif dan pemimpin eksekutif tadi, membentuk tim sukses yang melakukan kampanye untuk membujuk rakyat agar mau memilih para calon anggota legislatif yang mereka telah mengkampanyekan.
Karena pemilu pada hakekatnya adalah memilih pemimpin dan wakil pemimpin untuk melakukan sesuatu, yang dikenal dengan istilah akad wakalah (pemberian-kuasa dan melaksanakan suatu tugas). Ini menjadi halal jika urusan yang diwakilkan adalah halal, sebaliknya menjadi haram jika urusan yang diwakilkan adalah haram. Jika dikembalikan kepada pemilu legislatif, di mana rakyat akan memilih wakil untuk menjalankan fungsi legislasi yang menyalahi akidah, maka hal ini termasuk akad wakalah yang diharamkan.
