Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com – Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) mengeluarkan Surat Edaran berisi imbauan sebagai tindakan penanggulangan penyebaran pandemi Corona virus disease -19 (Covid-19) dengan memberlakukan perkuliahan online yang dimulai pada hari Selasa 17 Maret hingga 05 April 2020.
Rektor UMI, Prof. Basri Modding mengatakan seluruh kegiatan mahasiswa, dosen, hingga karyawan diliburkan termasuk kegiatan-kegiatan non akademik.
“Selama 21 hari tidak ada kegiatan yang berpotensi mengumpulkan banyak orang di kampus UMI. Kami imbau mahasiswa diam di rumah saja, atau yang mau pulang kampung silahkan,” kata Basri Modding dalam jumpa pers, Senin (16/03/2020).
Namun, bagi mahasiswa yang sedang melakukan praktik laboratorium, klinik, dan praktik industri diberikan waktu untuk menyelesaikan semua tugasnya dengan pertimbangan tetap mengikuti prosedur pencegahan Covid-19.
“Mahasiswa di laboratorium diberi waktu sampai Sabtu selesaikan praktikum, syaratnya tidak terinfeksi dan tetap mengikuti sesuai standar yang ditetapkan WHO,” lanjutnya.
Namun, meskipun kampus telah diliburkan, proses perkuliahan mahasiswa tetap berjalan, akan tetapi metode perkuliahan dilakukan dengan menggunakan aplikasi media sosial yang tersedia.
“Tidak ada tatap muka, perkuliahan dilakukan semuanya online. Pembelajaran jarak jauh menggunakan beberapa media-media Google, mailing list, Microsoft Thinkzoom, WhatsApp Grup, Line, hingga Skype,” tandasnya.
