Dilan, dia adalah Dilanku tahun 1990 bercerita tentang kehidupan seorang gadis bernama Milea Adnan Hussain. Milea adalah putri seorang prajurit TNI AD. Pada tahun 1990 Milea dan keluarganya pindah ke bandung, dari Jakarta pindah ke bandung karna ayahnya dipindah tugaskan .
di bandung milea melanjutkan sekolahnya di SMA Negeri di bandung, disinilah awal mulanya milea bertemu dengan sosok Dilan yang meramalnya di awal pertemuan ,di saat ia berjalan menuju sekolah, ia bertemu dengan seorang teman satu sekolahnya, seorang peramal. Peramal itu mengatakan bahwa nanti mereka akan bertemu di kantin. Awalnya Milea tidak menghiraukan laki-laki peramal itu, tapi setiap hari laki-laki peramal tersebut selalu mengganggunya. Mau tidak mau, Milea mulai mencari tahu, laki-laki peramal itu bernama Dilan.
Milea akhirnya tau Dilan itu suka bolos dan salah satu anggota geng motor , tapi itu semua tidak membuat milea mundur , perhatian dan perlakuan dilan membuat milea menjadi jatuh hati.

“Milea, kamu cantik, tapi aku belum mencintaimu. Enggak tahu kalau sore. Tunggu aja “ (Dilan,1990)
.
“Cinta sejati adalah kenyamanan, kepercayaan, dan dukungan. Kalau kamu tidak setuju, aku tidak peduli.” (Milea 1990)
“milea boleh gak aku ramal?”aku ramal, nanti kita akan bertemu di kantin (salah satu ramalan dilan)
Sebuah trik sederhana tapi bikin senyum dipilih dilan untuk kembali menarik perhatian milea, dia menyuruh pyan (sahabat dilan) untuk mengerimi milea surat lagi yang berisi :
“milea,ramalanku , kita akan bertemu di kantin, ternyata salah. Maaf. Tapi aku mau meramal lagi: Besok kita akan ketemu “
Lalu dilan mengerimi surat ke milea yang isinya membuat milea tersenyum dan geleng-geleng kepala
“bismilahirahmanirahim. Dengan menyebut nama Allah yang maha pengasih dan penyayang. Dengan ini, dengan penuh perasaan mengundang milea adnan hussain untuk sekolah pada hari : senin ,sealasa,rabu,kamis,jumat dan sabtu .( isi surat dilan ke milea)
Dan masih banyak lagi hal-hal yang unik yang dilakukan dlan untuk mendekati milea salah satunya seperti ketika milea ulang tahun dilan mengirimkan hadia ukang tahun berupa TTS yang sudah diisi oleh dilan dan ada sebuah surat yang berisikan :
“selamat ulang tahun milea , ini hadiah untuk mu, Cuma TTS. Tapi sudah kuiisi semua . Aku sayang kamu . Aku tidak mau kamu pusing karena harus mengisinya. Dilan!”
Hal – hal iseng yang sederhana itu nyata nya membuat milea tersenyum perlahan mulai menaruh perhatian ke dilan . Sampai-sampai , sejenak ia lupa ada Beni pacar milea di Jakarta. Milea tak ingin kehilangan dilan , baginya dilan seperti sesuatu yang bisa membuat hari-harinya berwarna . nyatanya milea jatuh cinta pada sosok berandalan itu, ia begitu takut kehilangan dilan, lambat laun, seiring berjalannya waktu Milea dan Dilan menjadi akrab. Milea mengetahui beberapa hal tentang dilan dari Wati, sepupu Dilan yang sekelas dengannya.
Sekolah Milea di Bandung terpilih menjadi peserta Cerdas Cermat TVRI, beberapa siswa yang bukan peserta dianjurkan untuk ikut memberikan semangat buat teman-temannya yang sedang berlomba. Milea salah satunya, dan di Jakarta ia sudah berencana untuk bertemu dengn Beni, pacarnya. Milea sudah lama menunggu Beni yang berjanji untuk datang ke TVRI, namun Beni tak kunjung datang. Akhirnya, Milea pergi makan bersama Nandan dan Wati. Saat itulah Beni datang dan marah-marah melihat Milea makan bersama laki-laki lain yang sebenarnya itu nandan teman milea, beni kalap dan meneriaki milea dengan sebutan PECUN!! Milea merasa sakit hati dan malu akhirnya milea memutusjan beni pada saat itu juga .
Setelah hubungan beni dan milea berakhir, milea semakin menyadari perasaannya ke dilan dan akhirnya dilan berhasil menaklukan hati milea , mereka resmi berpacaran diatas kertas bermaterei , dalam perjalanan saat mereka pacaran , dilan yang dalam cerita ini menjadi benar –benar sosok yang pelindung dan pembela milea yang selalu mampu membuat milea bahagia ,Dalam perjalanan saat mereka pacaran milea juga sangat dekat dengan keluarga dilan termasuk ibu dilan yang milea panggil dengan sebutan bunda, dilan yang setiap menelvon milea selalu menyelipkan kata-kata unik dan pembahasan yang sebenarnya itu gak perlu tapi milea menganggap itu semua lucu dan makin membuatnya jatuh cinta.

“Malah bingung, sih.”(dilan)

“Berat. Kau gak akan kuat. Biar aku saja.”(dilan)

Satu-satunya yang milea tak suka dari dilan ialah karna dilan salah satu anggota geng motor yang suka tawuran , milea tak ingin dilan mencelakai dirinya , Puncak kemarahan milea ialah pda saat dilan menyerang dan akhirnya harus di tahan di kantor polisi , milea mengancam dilan kalau dilan tidak berhenti dalam geng motor itu maka dia ingin memutuskan dilan, dilan pun nurut…..
