Kukira Kau Rumah menjadi film bioskop yang sangat di gandrungi di bulan februari saat ini. Dari awal kemunculannya film ini cukup menarik minat para penonton karena digadang-gadang lekat dengan isu Mental Health Awareness, sebuah isu yang sedang hangat di perbincangkan akhir- akhir ini .

Seorang pengidap gangguan mental biasanya, akan menjalani hidupnya dengan penuh pengawasan dan pembatasan oleh orang-orang sekitar. Lalu bagaimana seorang pengidap bipolar, akan menjalani harinya dengan normal ditengah pengawasan protektif dari sang ayah? Hal inilah yang dilakukan oleh Niskala dalam Film kukira kau rumah.

Film ini menceritakan tentang Niskala, seorang yang mengidap gangguan mental Bipolar yang didiagnosa sejak duduk di bangku SMA. Hal ini,membuat Niskalah tidak di izinkan oleh sang ayah untuk melanjutkan pendidikannya.

Niskala berusaha menjalani hari-harinya dengan normal dan memutuskan untuk melakukan Kuliahnya secara sembunyi-sembunyi.

Suatu hari, Niskala terlibat adu mulut dengan salah satu seniorny di kampus yaitu Pram, karena menyalahkan teori yang
dibuat oleh niskala. Dari pertemuan ini, sedikit demi sedikit telah merubah banyak kebiasaan di dalam kehidupannya.

Sifat Niskala kian berlahan berubah, membuat teman-teman dekatnya yang dapat mengawasinya kapan saja mulai berjarak, karena Niskala telah mempunyai kesibukan baru yaitu mengikuti kegiatan bersama dengan Pram.

Sejak saat itu Niskala menjadi lebih ceria dan terbuka, namun dibalik itu semua ia mengacuhkan peraturan rumah dan mulai menyulitkan teman-temannya. Sehingga muncul kecurigaan dari sang Ayah, yang akhirnya menimbulkan konflik di rumah dan akibat dari itu, membuat penyakit Bipolar yang diidap Niskalah menjadi kambuh.

Film ini membuka pemahaman publik mengenai isu Mental Health, selain itu Film ini juga memberikan tamparan halus kepada masyarakat bahwa, pengidap Mental Illnes tidak boleh dibatasi, dikurung karena mereka membutuhkan pendengar dan kawan untuk bertukar pikiran.

Sejalan dengan Hal itu, isu Mental Health telah menjadi salah satu isu utama dan yang paling ramai diperbincangkan akhir-akhir ini. Ramainya penyintas yang mulai membuka diri dan banyak juga yang melakukan edukasi-edukasi di media, membuat banyak orang menyadari dan peduli tentang Mental health.

Namun disamping respon positif dari banyak kalangan, juga banyak respon yang mulai melenceng dari maksud utama edukasi itu sendiri. Karena mulai ramai di perbincangkan banyak kalangan remaja yang mulai melakukan self diagnosis berdasarkan gejala yang mirip dengan informasi di media.Selain itu, mereka menganggap mengidap Mental Illnes adalah hal yang langkah dan ada juga yang menjadikan Mental Ilness sebagai panggung untuk mencari perhatian media.

Adapun self diagnosis itu sendiri adalah ketika seseorang mengambil sebuah kesimpulan dari hal yang dia alami berdasarkan informasi yang dikumpulkan sendiri. Kesimpulannya para pelaku self diagnose tidak menghadapkan kasus mereka pada orang yang ahli.

Trend self diagnosis ini, juga mulai di dukung oleh banyaknya fasilitas abal-abal di internet yang konon katanya menyediakan tes kesehatan mental. Padahal, pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang digunakan dalam tes tersebut tidak konkrit serta tidak mendasar.
Hal yang sangat disayangkan karena orang-orang yang melakukan tes tersebut lantas percaya dan menelan mentah-mentah hasil tes yang tidak memiliki pembuktian ilmiah.

Self diagnosis ini tentu berpengaruh pada kesehatan mental karena dapat menimbulkan kekhawatiran yang sebenarnya tidak perlu.

Selain itu, melakukan self diagnosis juga dapat membuat gangguan mental yang sesungguhnya menjadi terabaikan, karena para pelaku self diagnosis biasanya hanya akan mengetahui apa yang mereka alami, namun tidak memiliki pengetahuan untuk mengatasi hal itu.

Dengan melakukan Self Diagnosis berarti kamu sedang meragukan tenaga profesional, yang akan berujung pada masalah yang lebih serius. Karena Mental Illnes harus diatasi dengan benar.

Maka dari itu kita harus lebih cakap dalam memi-memilah informasi dan tidak tergiur untuk mengikuti trend.
