Fakultas Teknologi Industri Universitas Muslim Indonesia (FTI-UMI) menggelar Kuliah Umum Keinsinyuran, bertema “Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja (K3), dan Saing Global, dibawakan oleh kepala sekretariat dewan K3 nasional Ir Amri AK, MM, Sekretari DK3N Ir Armansyah, dan dibuka langsung oleh dekan FTI-UMI Ir. H Zakir Sabhara HW, ST, MT, IPM ASEAN Eng, di Auditorium KH Muhammad Ramli FTI UMI, Kamis (22/3).
Kuliah Umum K3 dan daya saing global yang diikuti lebih dari 150 peserta terdiri dari prakrisi proyek perkeretaapian, kontraktor dan konsultan dari peserta program profesi insinyur FTI-UMI, akademisi dan mahasiswa.
Ditengah berbagai persoalan kegagalan kontruksi dan kecelakaan kerja di sektor kontruksi serta sektor lainnya di Indonesia, FTI UMI berupaya ikut berperan mengambil posisi dan peran melakukan edukasi kepada masyarakat melalui kuliah umum keinsinyuran.
Ir. Majenuddin Kadis PU Konawe Utara, Taufik Kepala Direktur PDAM Penajam Paser Utara Kalimantan, Naim Hamid Manajer K3 PT. EPFM Makassar dan Didik Konsultan Engineering dari Sorong Papua Barat yang hadir bersama 71 peserta PPI FTI UMI Angkatan III lainnya menyampaikan kegiatan ini penting sebagai suplemen menghasilkan insinyur yang berkualitas. Tanpa pemahaman K3 yang kuat, kegiatan insinyur hanya akan melahirkan trauma bagi masyarakat dan kehancuran dari perusahaan, ujar Didik.
Kepala Sekretariat DK3N, Ir. Amri AK, MM meyebutkan dalam presentasinya bahwa kesadaran K3 di Indonesia masih kurang padahal dilain pihak negara kita sedang berpacu membangun industri. Sisi K3 harus mampu menjamin keselamatan operasi dari aktivitas industri. Tanpa keahlian K3 yang mumpuni, kecelakaan kerja akan terus terjadi. Peran Ahli K3 memiliki peran strategis dalam kita bersaing di lingkup global. Oleh karena itu Kampus dan lembaga pendidikan harus mampu melahirkan SDM berkualitas. Kami mengapresiasi atas upaya FTI UMI membangun MOU untuk membekali seluruh dosen dan mahasiswa untuk menjadi Ahli K3 Umum dan spesialis, pungkas Amri AK.
Selain kegiatan kuliah umum, juga dilaksanakan Penandatangan MOA Penyelenggaraan Sertifikasi Ahli K3 Umum. Kuliah Umum dimoderatori oleh Ir. Nadzirah Ikasari, ST, MT, IPP, Dosen K3 Teknik Industri FTI UMI.
