Maros, cakrawalaide.com — Mahasiswa Pecinta Alam Universitas Muslim Indonesia (Mapala UMI) punya anggota baru berjumlah 49 orang setelah sukses melaksanakan kegiatan alam bebas (outdoor) selama dua pekan yang merupakan tahap seleksi alam yang diadakan oleh panitia Mapraba 2014. Mahasiswa dari beberapa fakultas yang ada di kampus hijau itu resmi menjadi anggota muda di Mapala UMI setelah dikukuhkan di Biseang Labboro (Bislab), Kab. Maros, Minggu, (09/03/2014)

Acara pengukuhan anggota muda itu dihadiri ratusan senior-senior Mapala UMI dari berbagai angkatan. Sungai kolam air mata yang biasa disebut oleh anggota Mapala UMI itu dipadati seluruh anggota Mapala yang mengenakan baju logo dan menggunakan slayer berwarna orange maupun biru serta atribut Mapala UMI lainnya. Mereka berdiri membentuk lingkaran mengelilingi sungai untuk menjemput anggota barunya.

Alvian, Koordinator Lapangan, mengatakan, mereka yang berangkat berjumlah 54 peserta saat acara pelepasan di Al-jibra (24/02) tetapi 49 peserta saja yang resmi menjadi anggota. 5 diantaranya dipulangkan karena tidak lulus saat mengikuti aplikasi materi kepecinta alaman selama kegiatan berlangsung.

“Bukan cuma aplikasi materi saja yang kami berikan kepada peserta Mapraba, tapi yang utama bagaimana caranya bisa menjaga dan melestarikan lingkungan alam sekitar. Kami juga membentuk mental karakter kepribadian mereka agar selalu disiplin. Menghargai semua mahluk ciptaan tuhan dan menghormati yang lebih tua. Selamat kepada peserta yang lulus, selamat datang dikeluarga besar kami,” kata Alvian, koordinator lapangan.

Setelah acara pengukuhan angkatan ke-20 Mapala UMI itu, mereka kemudian membentuk lingkaran saling rangkul dengan senior-senior Mapala UMI untuk mendengarkan sambutan-sambutan dari senior yang dituakan. Dilanjutkan dengan salam-salaman sesama anggota. (*)
