Peduli Sesama di Tengah Pandemi Covid-19, HMT FAI UMI Bagikan Sembako

Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com – Himpunan Mahasiswa Tarbiyah (HMT) Fakultas Agama Islam (FAI) Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) membagikan sembako kepada mahasiswa dan sejumlah masyarakat terdampak Covid-19, Kamis (16/4/2020).
Kegiatan peduli sesama dengan langsung mendatangi tempat tinggal (indekos) mahasiswa yang tidak bisa mudik dan terpaksa menjalani proses belajar mengajar secara daring di Makassar, juga diperuntukkan bagi pekerja informal yang membutuhkan.
Menurut Muhammad Yusril Amrie selaku Ketua Umum HMT, hal tersebut merupakan salah satu program kerja dari HMT, yaitu PAI Care yang ditangani Divisi Humas dan Advokasi dengan tujuan membantu masyarakat yang membutuhkan bantuan dan menumbuhkan jiwa sosial.
“Secara khusus tujuan PAI Care itu adalah mewadahi dan memfasilitasi mahasiswa di lingkup PAI UMI yang membutuhkan dan layak untuk dibantu. Selain itu, tujuannya juga adalah untuk menumbuhkan rasa sosial humanity mahasiswa di prodi PAI UMI. Bagi-bagi sembako diperuntukan kepada mahasiswa tunanetra dan tidak dapat pulang kampung, pengemis di pinggir jalan, tukang sapu jalanan, dan tukang becak,” ujarnya.
Sembako yang dibagikan berupa beras, mie instan, minyak goreng, dan telur. Sebelumnya HMT memperoleh dana dari hasil open donasi dengan menyebar pamflet di media sosial.
“Sementara sampai hari ini dulu dan saya masih berniat lanjut, tapi belum saya sampaikan ke pengurus yang lain,” ungkap Yusril.
Selain itu, melihat belum adanya langkah dari pihak birokrasi UMI untuk menanggulangi dampak virus corona bagi mahasiswanya sementara Universitas lain telah mengeluarkan kebijakan, mulai dari subsidi kuota dan membagikan sembako, Yusril berharap UMI bisa belajar dari itu.
“Menurut saya beda kampus beda aturan dan kebijakan yang ditetapkan. Kalau kampus lain sudah memberikan kebijakan dalam bentuk bagi sembako kepada mahasiswanya, mudah-mudahan kebijakan tersebut dapat menjadi contoh bagi kampus lainnya, khususnya kampus kita UMI, karena memang banyak mahasiswa tidak dapat pulang ke kampungnya dan memiliki masalah dalam hal kebutuhan sehari-harinya,” tuturnya.
“Saya rasa juga ini bukan hanya tanggung jawab kampus, akan tetapi tanggung jawab kita sebagai mahasiswa untuk saling membantu mahasiswa lainnya dan disitulah harusnya peran lembaga organisasi intra, seperti Himpunan, BEM dan BLM maupun organisasi ekstra untuk memfasilitasi mahasiswa yang dinaunginya,” tutupnya.
