Peringati HATAM, Massa Kampanyekan Dampak Ekologis Pertambangan di Sulsel
Makassar, cakrawalaide.com – Sore hari menjelang buka puasa ramadan, massa yang tergabung dalam aliansi Rakyat Untuk Keadilan Ekologis mengampanyekan dampak akibat praktik pertambangan pada momentum Hari Anti Tambang (HATAM) yang diperingati setiap tanggal 29 Mei sebagai mandat dari pertemuan JATAM Nasional 2010 lalu, di Anjungan Pantai Losari, Rabu ( 29/5/2019).
Bencana ekologis akibat praktik pertambangan semakin masif terjadi. Industri ekstraktif pertambangan tidak hanya merusak keseimbangan ekologi, namun lebih dari pada itu sarat akan pelanggaran Hak Asasi Manusia.
Badai selaku jendral lapangan aksi menjelaskan bahwa bencana ekologis banjir bandang yang baru-baru ini merendam dua kabupaten terjadi akibat rusaknya Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Jeneberang yang disebabkan adanya tambang di area sungai Jeneberang.
Selain itu, banyaknya pertambangan yang tidak mengantongi izin khususnya di Sulawesi Selatan (Sulsel) teridentifikasi ada 757 perusahaan yang beroperasi namun hanya 414 perusahaan yang mengantongi Izin Usaha Pertambangan (IUP).
“Maka dari itu kami mendesak untuk pemerintah agar mengevaluasi dan cabut IUP di Sulsel yang merampas ruang hidup rakyat,” tutur Badai.
Perampasan ruang hidup akibat pertambangan juga berdampak pada sosial ekonomi masyarakat pedesaan yang menghilangkan mata pencaharian.
“Pertambangan skala besar juga berakibat pada hilangnya sumber pencaharian masyarakat setempat, sehingga beralih profesi menjadi tenaga murah di perkotaan,” tukas jendlap.
Lebih lanjut, ia menerangkan bahwa di daerah Takalar, Sulsel telah jatuh korban akibat lubang tambang yang tidak direklamasi.
“Di Pa’dinging , Sanrobone menewaskan tiga orang akibat lubang bekas tambang yang tidak direklamasi kembali,” terangnya.
Aksi peringati HATAM ini dinilai menjadi penanda bahwa industri ekstraktif pertambangan tidak berpihak pada kesejahteraan masyarakat, melainkan hanya para oligark.
