Sambut IWD Dengan Diskusi, Lembaga FAI UMI : Negara Harus Berpihak Pada Perempuan

Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com – Solidaritas Anti Kekerasan terhadap Perempuan menghelat diskusi pra-International Women’s Day (IWD) dengan mengangkat tema “Ciptakan Rasa Aman Bagi Perempuan dan Rakyat Marginal. Kegiatan ini berlangsung di Lantai 5 Fakultas Agama Islam (FAI), Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI), Kamis (5/3/2020).
Sri Wahyuni selaku wakil Ketua Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) FAI UMI mengatakan bahwa kegiatan ini bekerja sama dengan lembaga dalam lingkup FAI UMI dan bekerja sama dengan PMII Rayon FAI UMI.
Dia menuturkan, kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada mahasiswa bagaimana diskriminasi terhadap perempuan saat ini, juga bagaimana peran negara dalam menjalankan fungsi utamanya sebagai pelayan rakyat, khususnya perempuan.
“Kegiatan ini sebenarnya pemberian pemahaman terhadap mahasiswa bahwa sampai sekarang perempuan masih saja mendapatkan diskriminasi, baik itu di ranah privat, sampai ranah sosial, dan ruang pendidikan sekalipun,” tuturnya.
“Kami menginginkan negara menjalankan fungsi utamanya sebagai pelayan rakyat, termasuk perempuan. Regulasi yang ada tidak mampu berbicara banyak tentang pemenuhan hak-hak korban kekerasan seksual baik itu verbal dan non verbal,” lanjut Sri Wahyuni.
Maman, salah satu peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan tersebut, mengatakan bahwa dengan diskusi dapat memberikan pengetahuan dan isu-isu kekerasan seksual saat ini.
“Diskusi tersebut sangat bermanfaat apalagi pengetahuan serta isu-isu tentang kekerasan seksual kurang terekspos kepada kami. Kasus kekerasan seksual tidak boleh diabaikan, regulasi yang ada juga harusnya mengakomodir masalah kekerasan seksual karena banyak sekali kasus yang harusnya diselesaikan secara hukum dan harus berpihak kepada korban, RUU PKS adalah regulasi yang sangat cocok,” ujar Maman.
Diskusi Ini menghadirkan tiga narasumber, yakni dari Fatayat NU, SPAM, dan perwakilan mahasiswa lalu ditutup dengan pembuatan video solidaritas untuk mendukung buruh Aice yang sedang mogok kerja.
