Warisan Kartini untuk Negeri

Hari ini 21 April tentunya bukan lagi menjadi tanggal asing bagi kita, apalagi ketika berbicara tentang perempuan dan perjuangan. Setiap tahunnya bangsa Indonesia memperingatinya sebagai Hari Kartini. Berdasarkan keputusan Presiden Republik Indonesia nomor 108 tahun 1964 tertanggal 2 Mei 1964.
Ucapan “selamat Hari Kartini” setiap tahunnya mewarnai jagad dunia maya atau media sosial (medsos). Ribuan pemilik akun medsos tak lepas dari memosting foto R.A Kartini sebagai bentuk memperingatinya. Berbagai perayaan memang acap kali dilakukan untuk memperingati Hari Kartini, semisal waktu duduk di bangku sekolah, berbagai lomba diadakan, seperti lomba fashion show menggunakan kebaya dan konde, lomba puisi bertemakan Kartini, lomba vokal grup dengan lagu Ibu Kita Kartini. Semua hal tersebut dilakukan sebagai bentuk suka cita dalam menyambut momen itu.
Nama lengkapnya adalah Raden Ajeng Kartini. Seorang pahlawan Nasional Indonesia yang lahir di Jepara 21 April 1879. Fotonya kerap kali dipasang di dinding kelas sekolah dulu. Tanpa tahu mengapa sosok perempuan ini begitu sangat fenomenal dan apa yang telah ia lakukan untuk negeri ini.
Ia terlahir dari keluarga ningrat atau bangsawan. Meski begitu, tidak membuatnya menggunakan status sosial tersebut untuk menindas kaum miskin.
Namun, Kartini hadir sebagai pelipur lara di tengah kesedihan para perempuan kala itu. Buah pikiran yang selalu haus akan ilmu pengetahuan serta gelisah melihat segala bentuk penindasan. Membuatnya tergerak untuk melepaskan perempuan dari keterpurukan ilmu pengetahuan serta cengkeraman diskriminasi.
Berawal dari kegemarannya membaca buku, surat kabar, majalah serta menjalin korespondensi dengan sejumlah sahabat penanya di Belanda membuat pemikirannya terbuka dan mengenal gerakan feminisme. Memperjuangkan kesetaraan hak asasi bagi perempuan di Indonesia. Sebab memang sangatlah memerlukan perhatian khusus, terutama kebebasan berekspresi, otonomi, dan kesetaraan gender di mata hukum.
Perempuan kerap menjadi manusia kedua setelah laki-laki. Perempuan dilarang bersekolah dan hanya laki-lakilah yang dianggap dapat mengenyam pendidikan. Konstruksi sosial yang dibangun oleh masyarakat seakan-akan membuat laki-laki yang berhak dalam segala aspek kehidupan, sedangkan perempuan hanyalah di rumah untuk mengurus kebutuhan domestik. Sehingga melahirkan diskriminasi yang sampai sekarang masih sering berdengung di telinga kita, “buat apa perempuan memiliki pendidikan yang tinggi, toh tempat perempuan hanya akan berakhir di dapur, di kasur, dan di sumur.”
Banyak pula yang menganggap bahwa pencapaian tertinggi seorang perempuan, dilihat dari status pernikahannya. Walaupun memiliki pendidikan yang tinggi, tetapi tidak menikah maka ia dianggap gagal menjadi seorang perempuan. Problem yang masih dihadapi perempuan di Indonesia sampai saat ini tidak lepas dari budaya yang mengutamakan kaum laki-laki (Patriarki). Budaya yang telah merasuki berbagai sendi-sendi kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia.
Laki-laki dianggap memiliki superioritas terhadap perempuan. R.A Kartini telah membuka pintu-pintu kebebasan itu, sehingga sampai saat ini kita kaum perempuan bisa merasakan hangatnya kursi pendidikan, dengan berbekal pendidikan yang kuat serta berwawasan luas mampu menjadi pelopor emansipasi perempuan.
Jika kita melihat data dari Komnas perempuan Indonesia, tercatat 431.471 kasus kekerasan terhadap perempuan di Indonesia yang mengalami peningkatan setiap tahunnya. Itulah sebabnya salah satu tuntutan dalam berbagai aksi selama rentang waktu 24 hingga 30 September 2019 lalu, yakni meminta pemerintah untuk mengesahkan Rancangan Undang-undang Penghapusan Kekerasan Seksual (P-KS), yang seyogyanya harus cepat disahkan melihat angka kekerasan seksual yang sangat tinggi di Indonesia.
Perjuangan berbagai kalangan itu, hingga kini dianggap sebelah mata oleh para Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (DPR). Entah apa yang di benak para manusia yang katanya perwakilan rakyat itu sehingga tidak mengesahkannya hingga kini.
Hal ini membuktikan bahwa nasib para perempuan Indonesia masih sangat membutuhkan perhatian. R.A Kartini telah mewariskan semangat, kemandirian, dan keberaniannya dalam memperjuangkan kaum perempuan. Ingatlah di sini R.A Kartini hanyalah sebagai pembuka pintu memberikan jalan kepada kita untuk terus berjuang melawan segala bentuk ketidakadilan, diskriminasi, serta penindasan.
Tinggal bagaimana cara kita melanjutkan perjuangan itu.
Momentum Hari Kartini ini bukanlah identik dengan kebaya dan konde saja, melainkan sebagai pengingat serta merefresh ingatan bahwa perjuangan kaum perempuan belum usai. Sosok R.A Kartini memang telah tiada, akan tetapi ia telah menitipkan warisan kepada kita para perempuan Indonesia, yakni sudah menjadi tugas kita para generasi perempuan untuk melawan segala bentuk diskriminasi dan penindasan di negeri ini.
Jadilah perempuan kuat nan tangguh seperti halnya yang dituliskan Raden Ajeng Kartini dalam surat-suratnya.
