APD Rayakan IWD dengan Angkat Isu Perempuan Papua

Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com- Hentikan kekerasan militer terhadap perempuan papua menjadi salah satu tuntutan massa aksi yang tergabung dalam aliansi perjuangan demokrasi (APD). Aksi ini berlangsung di depan kampus II Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) pada rabu, (09/03/2022).
Menurut Lince, massa aksi sekaligus perwakilan Aliansi Mahasiswa Papua (AMP) mengungkapkan bahwa saat ini perempuan papua mengalami kekerasan dari lingkungan keluarga maupun militer.
“Saat ini perempuan di Papua mengalami kekerasan yang berlipat ganda. Karena penindasan terhadap perempuan papua bukan hanya terjadi dalam lingkungan keluarga tapi juga berbasis militer,” ungkapnya.
Lebih lanjut, Lince menjelaskan tentang kekerasan apa saja yang dialami perempuan Papua.
“Oprasi-oprasi militer di Papua, kebanyakan korbannya adalah perempuan yang mengalami pemerkosaan, pelecehan, penyiksaan bahkan sampai ada yang yang kehilangan anak dan suami,” jelasnya.
“Kejadian yang baru-baru ini terjadi saat operasi militer di puncak Papua, dimana ada 7 anak SD yang disiksa dan di aniaya,” ucapnya saat menceritakan kejadian penganiayaan anak yang baru-baru ini terjadi di Papua.
Lince juga menyebutkan tentang seberapa penting isu ini terus diangkat, ia menganggap kekerasan yang terjadi oleh perempuan Papua berbeda dengan kekerasan yang umumnya terjadi pada perempuan Indonesia.
“Sebenarnya penting sekali untuk isu-isu mengenai perempuan Papua terus diangkat, karena isu kekerasan perempuan Papua tidal bisa disamakan dengan isu kekerasan perempuan Indonesia, karena basis penindasan perempuan Papua sangat jauh berbeda dengan yang dialami perempuan Indonesia,” sebutnya.
Sementara itu, Icha Humas Aliansi menyayangkan isu tentang perempuan Papua ini kurang diketahui oleh masyarakat luas karena terbatasnya kebebasan media di Papua.
“Dari kabar terakhir yang kami ketahui, betul banyak kasus kekerasan terhadap perempuan Papua, tapi sayangnya kasus mengenai itu tidak diangkat secara luas oleh media karena seperti yang kita ketahui bahwa kebebasan jurnalis di Papua sangat dibatasi oleh pemerintah,” tegasnya.
Icha juga mengharapkan agar masyarakat dan media Indonesia lebih sensitif terhadap isu perempuan Papua.
“Harapanku besar sekali mengenai hal ini, kiranya masyarakat Indonesia punya sensitifitas melihat kondisi atau situasi perempuan di Papua, walaupun semua isu mengenai perempuan yang mengalami ketertindasan adalah hal yang urgent kita tanggapi, tapi kenyataannya hingga hari ini situasi perempuan Papua itu benar-benar tidak terlihat dan tidak dibicarakan di masyarakat,” tambahnya.
Sejalan dengan hal itu Lince juga mengakui bahwa hingga saat ini sangat sulit bagi media nasional maupun internasional untuk masuk ke Papua.
“Disana hingga saat ini sama sekali tidak ada media yang mampu untuk mengupdate apapun situasi yang terjadi. Bukan hanya media nasional bahkan media internasional juga tidak ada,” pungkasnya.
pada akhir wawancara Lince mengungkapkan harapannya agar isu mengenai Papua dapat diangkat lebih nyata berdasarkan apa yang benar-benar terjadi di Papua.
“Semoga saja kedepannya makin banyak ruang-ruang diskusi yang lebih luas, biar kita sama-sama belajar tentang apa yang sebenarnya terjadi di Papua. Bukan hanya melalui kacamata media pemerintah tapi kita harus betul-betul bisa mengenal Papua dengan kondisi nyata dan fakta-fakta di Papua sendiri,” tutupnya.
