Makassar, cakrawalaide.com – Meningkatkan minat baca sekaligus menyikapi peristiwa penyitaan buku oleh Brigade Muslim Indonesia (BMI) di MP pada Sabtu (03/08/2019) lalu, Aliansi Mahasiswa Peduli Literasi mengadakan lapak baca di pelataran Auditorium Al-jibra Universitas Muslim Indonesia, Rabu (07/08/2019).

Menurut Humas Aliansi Mahasiswa Peduli Literasi, kegiatan ini dilakukan untuk membangkitkan semangat literasi yang akhir-akhir ini mulai menurun yang diakibatkan oleh beberapa kejadian, seperti penyitaan buku di beberapa daerah di Indonesia.

“Alasan kita dari awal itu antara lain adalah bagaimana membangkitkan semangat literasi kawan-kawan, karena kita melihat bahwa akhir-akhir ini semangat literasi itu diredupkan dengan beberapa kejadian penyitaan buku yang dilakukan pada salah satu Mall ternama di Makassar,” ujar Ian.

“Kita juga merespons kegiatan tersebut [penyitaan buku], karna kita tau kegiatan itu merugikan” tambahnya.

Adapun tanggapan salah satu mahasiswa dari kampus Atma Jaya. Menurutnya kegiatan ini sangat baik untuk meningkatkan semangat literasi mahasiswa.

“Sangat bagus, apalagi budaya mahasiswa sendiri kan sangat minimlah literasi,” tutur Ferdy yang juga anggota PPMI.
