Extra Expose Usung Tema Diskusi, Kampus UMI Pohon Beringin Yang Gersang

Makassar, Cakrawalaide. com- Selasa, 22 maret 2022 merupakan hari terakhir pelaksanaan pameran Extra expose “Merekam kampus umi”. Dalam rangka penutupan kegiatan pameran, Extra Expose adakan diskusi dengan mengangkat tema “Kampus UMI Pohon Beringin Yang Gersang”. Diskusi ini dilaksanakan di depan Fakultas Ilmu Komputer (Fikom) setelah 2 kali berpindah tempat dikarenakan curah hujan yang mengguyur lokasi awal kegiatan.
Diskusi ini menghadirkan 2 pemantik yaitu: Iqbal Lubis dari pewarta Foto Indonesia Makassar, Mira Amin perwakilan dari lembaga bantuan hukum (LBH)
Pada Sesi Diskusi, Mira Amin berkesempatan untuk menjadi pemantik pertama jalannya diskusi.
Mira banyak memaparkan mengenai pandangan hukum mengenai kebebasan mahasiswa. menurutnya, ketidakhadiran pihak kampus merupakan indikator ketidakdemokratisan kampus”
“jika membahas mengenai bagaimana UMI menerapkan sistem demokrasi, sangat kurang rasanya kalau tidak ada perwakilan pihak kampus UMI itu sendiri. Ini bisa jadi sebagai salah satu indikator tidak demokratisnya UMI sebgai kampus”
Lebih lanjut, ia juga menjelaskan Mengenai Relefansi UU no. 12 tahun 2012 tentang perguruan tunggi diterapkan saat ini.
“Sebenarnya ada banyak tolak ukur untuk melihat apakah UU no.12 Tahun 2012 tentang perguruan tinggi ini masih relefan atau tidak hingga sekarang, misalnya soal tujuan ilmu pengentahuan itu tidak semerta merta hanya menciptakan pekerja saja tapi harus dibarengi dengan pendekatan nilai moral, yah dalam hal ini adalah asas keterbukaan dan asas demokrasi”.
Selain itu Mira juga mengeritik kebijakan yang terdapat pada statuta Kampus UMI yang secara terang terangan melarang Mahasiswa untuk menyampaikan kritikan.
“Dalam statuta UMI jelas mengatur bahwa mahasiswa UMI tidak boleh menyampaikan pendapat, atau aspirasi di muka umum apalagi lokasinya di depan kampus, padahal dalam UU perguruan tinggi menyampaikan pendapat di depan umum itu masih di bolehkan”.
sejalan dengan hal itu, mira juga membahas bagaiman peran lembaga mahasiswa dalam demokratisasi kampus
“Kalau berbicara mengenai kebebebasan demokrasi di kampus, bisa juga kita ukur melalui kedekatan antar lembaga mahasiswa. Karena kalau teman-teman antar lembaga saja sudah tidak terbuka, tidak transparan, maka akan sulit menyatukan sehingga apa yang kawan kawan mahasiswa inginkan tidak akan sampai juga ke pihak kampus”
Mira juga menegaskan bahwa lembaga mahasiswa juga, harus menerapkan kebebasan demokrasi dalam sistem kulturalnya .
“sebaiknya kita mempertanyakan dulu ke diri sendiri dan ke lembaga internal, apakah kita sudah demokratis atau tidak? Jangan sampai lembaga mahasiswa tidak demokratis namun malah menuntut pihak kampus untuk demokratis” tegasnya.
Selanjutnya, Iqbal Lubis selaku pemantik dari Pewarta Foto Indonesia Makassar menyampaikan apresiasinya mengenai pameran foto ini
“saya apresiasi kegiatan dari teman-teman Extra Expose, karena baru pertamakali saya melihat pameran foto yang semua isinya adalah visualiasi kampus, karena pameran foto pada umumnya menampilkan foto di luar kampus, tidak ada yang mau mengecek rumahnya sendiri”
lebih lanjut ia menjelaskan mengenai pergeseran eksisitensi fotografi jurnalistik di era digitalisasi
“Foto jurnalistik ini banyak berubah, sekarang karena perkembangan teknologi dan kita sudah memasuki era digitalisasi, akses kamera lebih mudah jadi belajar fotografi tidak selatah tahun tahun sebelumnya”
sejalan dengan itu, ia juga membahas mengenai penyebaran informasi di era sekarang
“begitupun metode penyebaran informasi, saat ini bahkan hampir semua literasi-literasi visual bisa di akses dengan mudah, berbeda dengan dulu kita harus baca buku dan belajar langsung pada yang ahli”
lebih lanjut Iqbal juga menceritakan mengenai pengalamannya selama menjadi Jurnalis foto di Tempo
“Dulu saat saya di Tempo saat 2010, saya ingat sekali kalau kita mengadakan rapat redaksi foto jurnalistik selalu menjadi pembahasan akhir. Karena bagi sebagaian orang Foto tidak punya prngaruh yang besar” pungkasnya
“Tapi kita bisa lihat sekarang, lebih banyak yang tertarik pada foto dibanding membaca narasi di koran. Itu semua pergeseran foto jurnalistik” lanjutnya
Beralih kepembahasan pameran, Ia mengaku tertarik dengan foto yang disajikan
“Saya tertarik sama foto orang manjat dan foto banjir disana, berbicara tentang banjir UMI itu selalu menjadi kampus utama yang menyalurkan bantuan pada saat banjir, saya ingat betul saat 2014 hampir setiap hari saya meliput mengenai hal itu. Namun jika dilihat dari apa yang di tampilkan pameran ini, semua pencitraan itu hilang”
Pada akhir sesi diskusi iqbal juga menjelaskan mengenai LBH pers yang siap membantu para pewarta saat terjerat masalah
“Jadi sekarang itu sudah ada LBH pers, untuk teman-teman wartawan yang terjerat kasus pidana atau yang biasa sering terjadi terjerat UU ITE, LBH pers siap membantu mengkawal kasus teman-teman” tutupnya.
