Keanekaragaman gen manusia di dunia sangat mempengaruhi jenis karakter pada rambut seperti panjang, kehalusan dan warna. Namun, demikian tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa kita bertanggung jawab terhadap kesehatan dan keindahannya.
Memiliki rambut yang indah, sehat dan tidak kusam adalah idaman sebagian besar semua orang di dunia, rambut ibarat mahkota yang harus di jaga dan dirawat, karena merupakan salah satu penunjang penampilan agar terlihat modis. Namun untuk mendapatkannya, seringkali dibutuhkan usaha dan perawatan yang ekstra.
Bagi perempuan yang berambut panjang biasannya rentan mengalami berbagai masalah seperti ; rambut rontok, ketombe, bercabang hingga mudah patah, masalah–masalah tersebut harus diakali dengan cara seperti menggunakan produk perawatan rambut yang cocok (vitamin, hingga serum) untuk menangkal kerusakan.
Sayangnya pemakaian produk-produk atau mengunjungi salon perawatan rambut itu belum cukup, anda perlu melakukan cara lain agar rambut panjang menjadi sehat dan tidak kusam.
Nah, sebelum membahas lebih lanjut tentang bagaimana merawat rambut agar terlihat sehat. Apa yang anda ketahui tentang rambut? Rambut tidak hanya sebagai pelindung kepala juga merupakan anggota tubuh yang memerlukan nutrisi, tumbuh dan berkembang.
Setiap helai rambut yang tumbuh di kepala memiliki bentuk, anatomi , fase pertumbuhan dan eksistensinya.meskipun kelihatnya remeh dan sederhana sehingga jarang orang memperhatikannya.
Ada beberapa fakta-fakta terbaru tentang rambut yang dikutip dari buku Dr.Aiman al-Husaini . Rambut kepala ternyata tumbuh mencapai 3,2 mm tiap minggu atau mencapai 12 cm dalam setahun tak hanya itu secara alami, wanita kehilangan rambutnya sebanyak 30-60 helai rambut setiap hari. Setiap 6 tahun sekali, umbi (akar) rambut berganti dan batang rambut akan rontok sehingga rambut baru mulai tumbuh setelah rentan waktu 3-4 bulan. Dan ternyata rambut terdiri dari bahan yang sama dengan kuku, yaitu keratin. Tetapi pada kuku, zat ini berfungsi sebagai bahan tanduk yang keras.
Rambut terdiri dari sel-sel protein yang kuat yang elastis yang disebut keratin. Dari sudut pandang ilmu kimia rambut terdiri dari berbagai macam unsur, diantaranya zat besi, nitrogen hydrogen asam sulfat, karbon fosfor dan oksigen. Jika ingin memiliki rambut yang indah maka perlu mengetahui lapisan rambut agar dapat memperlakukan rambut dengan baik dan benar. Apa-apa saja yang dibutuhkan rambut, berikut 3 lapisan yang dimiliki rambut :
- Lapisan tertular yang disebut kutikula rambut (Cuticle).
Kutikula terdiri dari sel-sel keratin yang pipih, lapisan ini memiliki peran penting karena bertugas menjaga pertumbuhan batang rambut dari dalam. Oleh karena itu jika sel –sel keratin mendapat perlakuan yang tidak baik maka rambut akan menjadi lemah dan pecah-pecah.
- Lapisan korteks rambut (Cortex).
Korteks merupakan lapisan kedua, lapisan ini bertugas mengatur bentuk batang rambut. Tertama karakter rambut seperti arah tumbuh, kadar kekuatan, dan ketahannya. Lapisan ini juga yang menentukan warna rambut, karena mengandung berbagai pigmen alami rambut.
- Lapisan medulla rambut (Medulla).
Lapisan ini merupakan inti batang rambut. Lapisan ini terdiri dari butir- butir keratohyalin yang lunak. Terkadang ada beberapa tipe rambut yang tidak memiliki lapisan ini. Tetapi hal itu tidak berpengaruh terhadap rambut.
Pembahasan di atas, cukup memberikan kita pemahan sedikit tentang rambut, maka dari itu untuk memliki rambut yang sehat, indah dan mudah diatur ada beberapa tips dan trik yang dilansir dari buku tips & trik cantik alamai tanpa resiko oleh Dr.Aiman al-Husaini (100 kesalahan wanita dalam merawat tubuh).
- Sering membasahi rambut
Saat basah, rambut menjadi lebih lemah sekitar 30% dari pada saat kering. Karena itu, salah besar jika membiarkan rambut sering dalam keadaan basah. Begitu juga saat mempelintir, menyisir atau menata rambut yang masih basah.sebab, hal tersebut memberikan peluang rambut menjadi rontok dan bercabang. Seharusnya membiarkan rambut anda kering terlebih dahulu, baru kemudian memperlakukan rambut anda dengan cara benar dan tepat.
- Sering berkeramas
Membersihkan rambut dan keramas itu sangat dianjurkan tetapi, tidak boleh berlebihan karena sesuatu yang berlebihan pasti hasilnya tidak akan maksimal justru dapat membahayakan. Seperti rambut yang sering dikeramas akan menghilangkan lapisan minyak rambut (sebum) alami yang berfungsi melembutkan rambut. Berkurangnya sebum pada rambut dapat membuat rambut menjadi kering dan kusam. Lebih dari itu, kandungan deterjen sampo yang digunakan bisa merusak rambut. Selain itu, juga bisa merusak warna rambut menjadi kemerah-merahan serta memberi kesan kering.
Tidak ada standar baku yang tepat bagi semua orang dalam hal berkeramas. Sebaiknya melakukan keramas saat rambut tampak kotor .
- Menyisir rambut ketika dalam keadaan basah.
Rambut rapih merupakan bagian dari kecantikan. Oleh karena itu, hampir semua wanita sangat menyukai menata rambut agar dapat terlihat cantik. Sayangnya, banyak wanita yang kurang memperlihatkan hal-hal yang bisa membahayakan rambutnya. Misalnya menyisir rambut dalam keadaan basah. Tindakan ini sangat tidak baik dan membahayakan rambut. Sebab ketika dalam keadaan basah, rambut menjadi lemah sekitar 30% keadaan dari pada saat kering. Rambut yang sering disisir ketika dalam keadaan basah akan lebih mudah bercabang dan rontok. Sudah saatnya anda menyadari bahayanya ini untuk kemudian tidak lagi menyisir rambut dalam keadaan basah sebaiknya tunggu sampai kering. Oleh karena itu, perlakuan anda terhadap anggota tubuh yang tipis dan sensitive ini jangan terlalu berlebihan dalam dalam merapikan atau menyisirnya.
- Sering memotong rambut bisa membuat nya menjadi tebal ?
Menganggap sering potong rambut akan membuat rambut semakin tebal, hitam dan lebat. Anggapan ini tidak benar. Sebab, tidak ada kaitannya antara potong rambut dan pertumbuhannya. Yang ada adalah ketika rambut dipotong, akan menjadi tumpul dibagian ujungnya sehingga dapat terlihat tebal. Rambut yang tumbuh memang agak terlihat hitam karena belum dipapar oleh sinar matahari sehingga terlihat lebih hitam. Kalau memang terlihat tebal dan hitam maka hal tersebut sama sekali tidak benar. Sebab, para ahli menyatakan, rambut yang tumbuh tipis dari sejak lahir, maka tidak akan bisa berubah menjadi tebal meskipun menggunakan berbagai cara.
- Terlalu sering menyikat rambut
Ada sebagian wanita yang meyakini bahwa menyikat rambut akan membuat sirkulasi darah di kepala lancar, sehingga rambut bisa tumbuh subur, lebat dan tebal. Padahal kenyataannya tidak demikian. Justru hal itu membuat rambut yang sering tertarik oleh sikat akan mudah patah dan bahkan rontok.
- Sering memanaskan rambut
Panas yang berlebihan merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat menyebabkan rambut menjadi rusak. Memberikan paparan panas dengan derajat tinggi pada rambut, seperti penggunaan penguap rambut, pengering rambut (hair drayer) dan rol rambut dapat menimbulkan masalah pada lapisan kutikula rambut. Bahkan hal tersebut dapat menyebabkan pergesaran beberapa bagian pada lapisan kutikula rambut. kondisi tersebut justru akan memicu terjadinya lubang-lubang kecil yang menjadi jalan masuk air atau benda-benda lain masuk ke dalam rambut, serta dapat membuat beberapa lapisan luar rambut rontok sehingga membuat rambut menjadi lemah, mudah pecah dan patah. Oleh karena itu, hindari penggunaan pengering rambut, kecuali dalam keadaan yang sangat tergesa / terpaksa dan usahakan untuk menggunakannya dari jarak jauh, minimal 15cm. Tetapi lebih baik jika rambut kering oleh tiupan angin alami.
