Mahasiswa Keluhkan Pemberian Tugas Kuliah Online, Begini Tanggapan Dosen

Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com. – Mahasiswa Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI), Jurusan Ilmu Komunikasi (Ilkom) Fakultas Sastra (FS) mengeluhkan tugas yang diberikan dosen selama kuliah online di tengah pandemi virus Corona (Covid-19), Sabtu (28/3/2020).
Melalui whatsapp grup, sejumlah mahasiswa angkatan 2019 Ilkom menyampaikan keluh kesahnya ke dosen. Berselang beberapa menit kemudian, Hadawiah selaku Ketua Prodi Ilkom menanggapi keresahan mahasiswa.
“Kuliah harus selalu bersama tugas online, kalau tidak ada tugas itu namanya majelis taklim. Bukan hanya transfer ilmu, tapi mahasiswa harus lebih pro-aktif belajar sebelum masuk kelas,” ujar dosen tersebut.
Lanjut, ia juga menimpali pernyataan mahasiswa agar tidak perlu mengikuti dosen jika banyak mengeluh. Namun hanya tunggu konsekuensi.
“Kalau begitu, silahkan lakukan apa yang kamu inginkan tidak usah ikut dosennya, tinggal tunggu konsekuensinya,” timpalnya.
Diketahui, Zul salah satu mahasiswa mengeluhkan biaya tambahan untuk membeli kuota internet dan mengungkapkan hambatan yang dialami selama menjalani kuliah online dengan aplikasi zoom.
“Kuliah online untuk saat ini memang satu-satunya cara untuk tetap menjalankan proses perkuliahan, tapi banyak sekali kendala-kendala yang ada dan saya rasa perlu dipertimbangkan oleh pihak dosen maupun kampus. Misalnya penggunaan aplikasi zoom sebagai alat belajar mengajar yang sangat boros kuota, ditambah lagi banyaknya gangguan seperti sinyal, suara-suara sumbang, dll,” cetus Zul dalam percakapan whatsapp grup itu.
Selain itu, Zul hanya mengharapkan kiranya dosen bisa mempertimbangkan keputusan sebelum memberikan tugas, serta mengevaluasi cara pembelajaran agar kuliah online itu bisa berjalan dengan efektif.
“Semoga dosen mempertibangkan semua keresahannya mahasiswa dan lebih memikirkan lagi bagaimana materinya tersampaikan dengan baik bukan malah membajiri tugas yang membuat mahasiswa tidak suka belajar,” ujarnya.
Tidak hanya Zul, beberapa mahasiswa juga mengeluhkan adanya tambahan tugas yang terlalu banyak bahkan harus dikerjakan dengan deadline dan terkesan memberatkan mahasiswa.
Nurul Waqiah, juga mahasiswi Ilkom, menilai beberapa dosen membebani mahasiswa dengan tugas-tugas selama kuliah online hingga stress. Ia juga menyarani dosen agar cukup memberikan tugas yang konteks dengan keadaan sekarang.
“Dosen dari berbagai fakultas di UMI seharusnya lebih fokus dalam membantu penanganan virus corona. Memberikan tugas yang sesuai kompetensi masing-masing yang berkontribusi sesuai Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, tepatnya pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Bukan malah memberi tugas yang notabenenya memberatkan mahasiswa,” pungkas Iwa sapaan akrabnya.
