Membicarakan Gender dan Seksualitas di UMI

Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com – “Gender dan Seksualitas, – Hidupku Realitasku!” menjadi tema diskusi yang digelar oleh Fosis sebagai rangkaian dari memperingati Hari Perempuan Sedunia yang dirayakan setiap tanggal 8 Maret di hampir seluruh penjuru dunia. Senin (07/03/2022).
Pemantik diskusi Membahas mengenai kesetaraan gender yang tentunya tidak akan lepas dari segala bentuk ketidakadilan yang diterima sebagai perempuan dan gender lainnya. Hal ini merupakan bentuk dari konstruksi patriarki yang melekat dalam masyarakat.
Nabila Sydza salah satu pemantik sekaligus aktivis gender menuturkan mengenai perbedaan gender dan seksualitas yang belakangan ini sering disalahartikan oleh masyarakat.
“Adapun perbedaan gender dan seksualitas yang secara umum orang ketahui yaitu gender adalah konstruksi sosial, dimana hal-hal konstruk itu dibuat dan diciptakan sementara sexualitas berbicara tentang hal-hal biologis, atau dalam hal ini secara lahiriah ada di diri seseorang. Namun seiring perkembangan jaman, gender malah disatukan menjadi seksualitas,” tuturnya.
Sementara itu, Eman Memay, pemantik yang juga aktif menyuarakan isu-isu keberagama gender menjelaskan mengenai sejarah awal mula munculnya peran gender.
“Peran gender ini sebenarnya baru ada ketika manusia mulai mengenal bertani, dimana ketika itu mereka harus menetap di suatu tempat dan disitu mulai pembagian peran dimana laki-laki harus berburu dan perempuan harus melakukan kerja domestik dan reproduktif,” Jelasnya.
lanjut, Eman juga menjelaskan tentang bagaimana pembagian pembagian peran akhirnya melahirkan kosntruksi sosial dan diskriminasi dalam masyarakat karena ada pembagian peran ketika gender laki-laki dan perempuan harus sesuai dengan jenis kelaminnya. Contohnya ketika seseorang berpenis dia harus berekspresi maskulin dan macho. Padahal diluar dari konsep binar itu (Laki-laki dan perempuan) ada gender-gender lainnya. Sedangkan seperti yang kita-ketahui di suku bugis itu mengenal ada 5 (Lima) gender yaitu ; uroane (Laki-laki), makkunrai (Perempuan), calabai (Laki-laki feminim), calalai (perempuan maskulin) dan bissu (pendeta adorogini).
sejalan dengan hal itu, Sasa berpendapat bahwa konstruksi sosial yang terjadi di indonesia merupakan pengaruh dari budaya dan norma yang tertanam dalam masyarakat.
“Kalau berbicara mengenai konstruks gender di indonesia hari ini itu pasti mengikuti budaya ataupun hal-hal normatik dalam masyarakat yang di akui oleh status quo. Secara pribadi kalau melihat dalam implementasi masyarakat tentang gender itu sangat timpang karena ada beberapa kelompok-kelompok yang di diskriminasi terkait kegagalan kita merepresentasikan gender di Indonesia,” ungkap Sasa.
Konstruksi gender ini bisa menyebabkan stigma dan kekerasan yang kerap terjadi pada kelompok LGBT. Dari catatan yang kami kumpulkan dari tahun 2017 sampai 2019 ada 35 kasus, sementara dari data media ada 361 kasus dari 288 berita.
Lanjut, Eman juga mengungkapkan mengenai seberapa penting menyuarakan kesetaraan gender sebagai perwujudan dari hak asasi manusia.
“Pentingnya yaitu bagaimana kita memberikan hak dan keadilan kepada setiap orang, tanpa membeda-bedakan orientasi seksualnya dan ekspresi gendernya. Kita harus melihat bahwa dia adalah manusia yang sama dengan kita,” ungkapnya.
Diakhir sesi, Sasa menyampaikan harapannya terkait mulai ramainya ruang publik yang membahas mengenai isu gender bisa menjadi wadah untuk semua orang belajar mengenai isu-isu gender.
“Dari banyak dan semakin masifnya wacana terkait gender dibicarakan, semoga pikiran masyarakat lebih terbuka dan lebih banyak belajar dan merefleksi diri, karena mungkin saja kesalahan masyarakat dan korban-korban yang lebih banyak adalah akibat dari kita sendiri. Harus kita akui bahwa kita juga korban dari masyarakat karena sejak kita lahir tidak ada konsen khusus untuk bisa memilih sendiri apa identitas gender kita. karena hal yang terjadi ini mengakibatkan ada kelompok yang mendominasi, ada yang rentan. Ada yang diatas dan ada yang dibawah, tutupnya.
