WR III “Saya Janji tidak Melarang Peringatan AMARAH”
Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com- Lewat dialog dengan mahasiswa , Wakil Rektor (WR) III Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) Prof. Laode Husen SH. MH. berjanji tidak akan melarang peringatan April Makassar Berdarah (AMARAH), serta akan merevisi Pasal 26 dalam buku saku, di Menara UMI, Rabu (24/4/2019).
“Saya akan revisi buku saku Pasal 26 dan saya jaminannya kalau perlu hari ini kita akan revisi supaya kedepannya tidak ada lagi dialog antar mahasiswa karena ini hanya masalah kecil,” tutur mantan KOMPOLNAS dan juga WR III UMI tersebut.
Pelarangan peringatan AMARAH dianggap penting, untuk dipertanyakan oleh Mahasiswa yang tergabung dalam Aliansi Gerakan UMI Bersatu. mengingat aturan ini dinilai sangat jelas membungkam demokrasi kampus, serta bersifat kontradiksi dengan hak-hak mahasiswa, untuk menyampaikan pendapat dan aspirasinya.
“Pelarangan AMARAH seperti membungkam demokrasi, dan mahasiswa seolah dibungkam haknya, untuk menyampaikan aspirasinya,” tutur Azmat di depan Menara UMI.
Aliansi Gerakan UMI Bersatu juga menegaskan akan terus mengawal argumentasi yang dikeluarkan oleh WR lll, dan akan memberikan tunjangan waktu dalam merevisi aturan-aturan yang membungkam demokrasi kampus, khususnya Pasal 26 Ayat 10-11 tentang tidak diperkenankannya menyampaikan Aspirasi dan unjuk rasa dijalan raya depan kampus UMI, dan tidak diperkenankannya memperingati AMARAH, serta akan terus mengawal tuntutan ini sampai terealisasi.
“Merevisi suatu peraturan itu butuh waktu, bukan berarti hari ini kita meminta peraturan itu direvisi tapi ada mekanismenya yang jalan, terutama aturan dalam buku saku untuk itu kita akan slalu mengawal tuntutan kita smpai betul-betul terwujud,” tutup Azmat.
