API Kampus Angkat Tema Serba Hitam, Simbol Matinya Demokrasi di UMI

Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com-Aliansi Pro Demokrasi (API) Kampus melakukan aksi kampanye di depan gedung Rektorat Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI). Kamis (18/11/21)
Aksi yang dimulai dari dalam kampus kali ini sangat berbeda dengan aksi-aksi sebelumnya. Selain membagikan selebaran, massa aksi yang kompak memakai drescode serba hitam tersebut turut membagikan surat yang ditulis langsung oleh Fahmi dan Ari.
Koordinator aksi mengatakan bahwa hari ini Aliansi Pro Demokrasi Kampus memang melakukan aksi dengan tema hitam.
“Kami memilih tema hitam sebagai bentuk duka yang mendalam yang kami rasakan sebagai mahasiswa di UMI,” tutur Jordi.
Drescode serba hitam, payung hitam, petaka hitam, kacamata hitam, tidak lupa bunga mawar hitam, sangat kontras dengan pakaian semua mahasiswa maupun masyarakat yang menyaksikan aksi pada saat itu.
“Bunga mawar hitam bermakna sebagai tanda duka mendalam atas kepergian atau kematian yang sedang terjadi atau bisa juga kebangkitan. Jadi hal tersebut menandakan matinya demokrasi di kampus hijau yang katanya unggul ini dan di sisi lain ada semangat yang terus berlipat ganda,” ungkap Humas Aliansi.
Salah satu massa aksi yang tergabung dalam aliansi menjelaskan saat ini kemunduran demokrasi tidak hanya terjadi di negara kita, tapi juga dengan kampus UMI.
“Nilai-nilai demokratis dalam ranah akademis tidak lagi menjadi sesuatu yang penting. Benar kata ketua advokasi YLBHI kemarin saat diskusi bahwa saat ini yang punya kekuasaan, senjata, merekalah yang berkuasa dan semaunya bertindak,” tegas Salsa.
Massa aksi berdiri tanpa melakukan orasi di trotoar jalan depan rektorat selama hampir 3 jam lamanya. Kemudian membacakan pernyataan sikap dan melakukan tabur bunga di depan rektorat yang bertuliskan “Menara UMI”.
Adapun tuntutan massa aksi masih sama yaitu meminta tanggung jawab kampus atas dilaporkannya dua mahasiswa, meminta pihak kampus membuka ruang diskusi untuk menyelesaikan persoalan UKM, stop upaya kriminalisasi mahasiswa, dan wujudkan demokratisasi kampus.
