Menuju Harapan Baru, HMJ PSP FPIK-UMI
Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com – Harapan baru Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan Pemanfaatan Sumberdaya Perikanan (HMJ PSP) FPIK-UMI, seperti yang tersirat dalam tema “Optimalisasi Mahasiswa PSP Dalam Bingkai Kekeluargaan Yang Intelektual dan Profesional” yang diangkat dalam acara pelantikan pengurus HMJ PSP FPIK-UMI periode 2018-2019 di Aula Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan, kampus II UMI, Kamis (04/10/2018)
Hal tersebut seperti yang dijelaskan oleh ketua umum HMJ PSP, Zainudin Kaimuddin, “tema ini mempunyai makna dimana kita menghimpun semua mahasiswa PSP dalam bingkai kekeluargaan dan mengoptimalkan potensi yang ada pada mahasiswa PSP, sehingga menjadi mahasiswa yang berintelek dan profesional khususnya dibidang ke ilmuannya melalui kegiatan-kegiatan yang akan dilakukan oleh himpunan,” tuturnya.
Ketua jurusan Pemanfaatan Sumberdaya Perikanan, Dr. Ir. H. Muhammad Jamal Alwi, M.Si menuturkan, bagaimana pentingnya kegiatan-kegiatan mahasiswa dalam menunjang akreditasi jurusan, dimana jurusan PSP telah mendapatkan akreditasi A namun hanya berlaku selama lima tahun.
“Kami dari program studi juga mengharapkan peran dari himpunan mahasiswa, banyak nanti yang bisa meningkatkan kita punya akreditasi jauh lebih baik dari sekarang,” ungkapnya.
Secara tegas dekan Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan, Dr. Ir. Asbar, M.Si mengatakan, bahwa birokrasi fakultas harus mendukung kegiatan-kegiatan mahasiswa nantinya.
“Pihak fakultas wajib, mendukung seluruh kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh himpunan,” ungkapnya.
Kegiatan yang sempat ditunda dua kali ini membuat ketua jurusan PSP berharap walaupun terlambat dalam pelaksanaan pelantikan, namun pada saat pelaksanaan program kerja harus sejalan dengan himpunan lain yang telah lebih dulu melaksanakan pelantikan.
“Walaupun terlambat waktu pelantikan tapi nanti pada saat waktu pelaksanaan program ini bisa mengejar,” tutupnya.
