Perangi Hoaks, AJI Kembali Adakan ‘Halfday Basics Workshop’
Gowa, Cakrawalaide.com – Aliansi Jurnalis Independen (AJI) bekerjasama dengan Google News Initiative dan Internews kembali menyelenggarakan Halfday Basics Workshop di Kampus II Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Alauddin Makassar, Jumat (/01/10/2019).
Diketahui kegiatan serupa sebelumnya pernah dilaksanakan di STIEM Amkop Makassar pada 21 September 2019 lalu. Fasilitator kegiatan, Nurdin Amin menjelaskan bahwa tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah sebagai bentuk sosialisasi kepada mahasiswa dan masyarakat umum tentang cara mendeteksi informasi hoaks di media sosial menggunakan beberapa tools yang disediakan oleh google.
“Intinya bagaiamana memberikan pengenalan kepada teman-teman mahasiswa serta masyarakat luas bagaimana cara mendeteksi informasi hoaks di media sosial dengan menggunakan tools yang google sediakan,” ungkap Nurdin.
Ia berharap dengan kegiatan ini peserta dapat mengecek langsung atau memverifikasi kebenaran dari berita yang diperoleh. Mengingat diera digital hari ini informasi hoaks sangat mudah tersebar di media sosial hampir setiap harinya. Selain itu, kata dia, nalar kritis masyarakat juga sangat penting dalam membaca berita.
Selanjutnya ia juga menambahkan bahwa AJI membuka diri untuk semua kampus yang ingin bekerja sama dan membuat pelatihan perihal Hoax Busting and Digital Hygien.
Ketua AJI Makassar juga membeberkan beberapa problem masyarakat sekarang yang mudah membagikan informasi yang belum jelas kebenarannya. Sehingga, penting dilakukan verifikasi setiap informasi yang diterima di media sosial.
Saat diwawancara, Sada yang merupakan salah satu peserta forum mengungkapkan bahwa kegiatan tersebut sangat menarik. Menurutnya, materi yang dijelaskan oleh fasilitator sangat membantu dalam menganilisis informasi yang diterima dari media sosial.
“Menurut saya bagus, karena dengan materi itu lebih membantu orang lain, terutama saya pribadi dalam menganilisis informasi di media sosial. Serta lebih membantu kita agar selalu kritis dalam menanggapi berita-berita,” tutur Sada.
