Memperingati Hari Kartini dengan Dialog Empower Women
Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com – Dalam rangka memperingati hari Kartini, Himpunan Mahasiswa Tekhnik Pertambangan (HMTP) Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI), mengadakan dialog Empower Women dengan tema “Meningkatkan Kualitas Pemberdayaan Perempuan dengan Semangat Kartini,” yang berlangsung di pelataran Fakultas Teknik Industri (FTI-UMI), Selasa (23/04/2019)
Ketua HMTP mengungkapkan, bahwa Dialog ini merupakan kegiatan yang dilakukan agar berbeda dengan yang lain dalam memperingati hari kartini. Menurutnya, peringati hari Kartini dengan lomba masak, fashion show dan lainnya, justru membentuk pemahaman bahwa perempuan memang tempatnya tidak lain adalah mengurusi rumah.
“Kami memilih memperingati hari Kartini dengan Dialog karena anti mainstream. Yang biasanya masak-masak, fasion show itu hanya akan membentuk kembali mindset perempuan bahwa tempatnya memang di sumur, kasur dan dapur. Diskusi adalah salah satu cara mengajak teman-teman untuk mampu bersikap dan memposisikan dirinya sebagai mahasiswa,” ungkap Azizah.
Ia juga menambahkan, bahwa melalui semangat Kartini perempuan dapat meningkatkan kualitas dalam kehidupan sosial
“Empower Women ini kan artinya memperdayakan perempuan. Jadi melalui semangat perjuangan Kartini dalam pemberdayaan perempuan dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas dalam lingkup sosial atau kehidupan kita. Sehingga kita tidak selalu mengharapkan laki-laki dalam segala aspek kehidupan,” ujar Lesti
Diketahui bahwa perempuan saat ini memang sangat sedikit yang sadar akan peran dan tanggung jawabnya. Yang mereka ketahui adalah perempuan tugasnya memasak dan melayani laki-laki, tidak boleh keluar dari ranah itu. Bahkan dalam pemerintahan, perempuan hanya memiliki 30 persen hak menduduki jabatan di Legislatif.
Lanjut, Azizah menambahkan bahwa hari ini masih jarang yang duduk dan mendiskusikan permasalahan perempuan.
“Apalagi dikalangan Mahasiswa sangat sedikit yang mengadakan diskusi untuk membahas bagaimana peran perempuan dan masalah perempuan hari ini, serta sampai hari ini saya belum mendapatkan atau mendengar organisasi perempuan mana yang masih memperingati hari Kartini,” tambahnya.
