LAM UKI Paulus Demo di DPRD Sulsel Tuntut Wakil Rakyat untuk Kawal Kasus Kekerasan Akademik di Kampus

Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com – Lembaga Aspiratif Mahasiswa (LAM) Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI) Paulus kembali berdemonstrasi terkait penolakan terhadap Surat Keterangan (SK) Drop Out (D.O) secara sepihak kepada 28 Mahasiswa UKI Paulus.
Kali ini, LAM UKI Paulus mendatangi kantor Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (DPRD) Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan (Sulsel), di Jl. Urip Sumoharjo, Rabu (29/01/2020).
Menurut Jendral lapangan (Jendlap), aksi ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mendesak pihak DPRD Sulsel untuk terlibat dalam mengawal kasus kekerasan akademik yang terjadi di kampus UKI Paulus Makassar.
“Kami ingin pihak DPRD juga menjalankan tanggungjawabnya selaku perwakilan rakyat untuk mendesak LLDIKTI (Lembaga Pelayanan Pendidikan Tinggi) agar mengevaluasi kampus UKI Paulus, atas pemecatan secara sepihak yang telah dilakukan oleh Rektor,” ujar Lexy.
Sebelumnya, massa aksi sempat tertahan di gerbang kantor DPRD oleh aparat keamanan. Namun, massa aksi membangun mediasi dan akhirnya perwakilan aliansi dan mahasiswa yang menjadi korban kekerasan akademik pun dipersilahkan masuk ke dalam ruangan aspirasi.
Muhammad Irwan, selaku pihak dari DPRD Sulsel memfasilitasi massa aksi untuk menyampaikan tuntutannya di dalam ruangan aspirasi.
“Yakinlah aspirasi adek-adek mahasiswa akan kami langsung tindaklanjuti, paling lambat kami janji minggu depan, kami akan memanggil rektornya,” tutur Muhammad Irwan.
Menanggapi soal keresahan mahasiswa terkait tindakan kampus UKI Paulus mengeluarkan SK D.O, sebagai respons atas aksi demonstrasi secara damai dan tertib oleh mahasiswa menolak PR Ormawa, pada 20 Januari lalu. Muhammad Irwan menegaskan kembali bahwa pihak kampus UKI Paulus mestinya menghormati kebebasan menyampaikan pendapat di muka umum.
“Intinya kami sudah menerima aspirasi ini, yang mana keinginan adek-adek mahasiswa bahwa di kampus tidak boleh dibatasi terkait penyampaian aspirasi,” ungkapnya.
Selain itu, Irwan juga menanggapi terkait SK D.O 28 mahasiswa yang dikeluarkan oleh Rektor UKI Paulus (24/01) secara sepihak, tanpa melibatkan mahasiswa dalam proses mekanisme komisi disiplin (Komdis) sebelum menjatuhkan sanksi.
“Adanya 28 mahasiswa yang di Droup Out tanpa sebelumnya ada SP [surat peringatan]. SP satu atau dua, sementara tidak ada perusakan terjadi yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa pada aksi tersebut,” tambahnya.
Tak hanya itu, menyambung tuntutan mahasiswa terkait LLDIKTI. Sofyan sempat menjelaskan kembali soal kasus kekerasan akademik yang juga terjadi di Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Informatika dan Komputer (STIMIK) Akba. Ia mengatakan bahwa pihaknya telah membangun komunikasi ke LLDIKTI membahas persoalan kasus kekerasan akademik yang akhir-akhir ini marak terjadi.
“Pada LLDIKTI juga kami sudah berpesan bahwa lebih mengutamakan mahasiswa daripada kampus,” ungkap Sofyan.
Sementara itu, Jendlap menyampaikan harapannya mengenai penyelesaian kasus kekerasan akademik tersebut, agar pihak DPRD Sulsel bisa menepati janjinya.
“Semogah DPRD bisa memfasilitasi kami untuk melakukan mediasi karena kampus selalu menolak untuk bertemu kami, kemudian kawal LLDDIKTI karena sampai sejauh ini LLDIKTI tidak pernah serius dalam menyikapi kasus kekerasan akademik yang marak terjadi,” tutup Jendlap.
