Racana UMI Gelar Ikhwan – Akhwat Scout Competition
Makassar, cakrawalaide.com — Unit Kegiatan Mahasisiwa Pramuka Racana Universitas Muslim Indonesia gelar IASC 2014 (Ikhwan Akhwat Scout Competition) tingkat SMA dan sederajat yang akan berlangsung dari tanggal 28 Februari hingga tanggal 2 Maret 2014 yang akan memeperebutkan piala bergilir Rektor UMI.
Perkemahan yang dilaksanakan di lingkungan Kampus UMI ini, diikuti oleh 24 regu pramuka dari berbagai sekolah yang ada di Sulawesi Selatan yang nantinya akan saling bersaing dalam 11 lomba yang telah disiapkan panitia, mulai dari lomba perkemahan, kepramukaan, cerdas-cermat, lintas kota masyarakat (long march), tarian YKS dan masing banyak lagi.
Kegiatan yang mengusung tema ”Dengan Pramuka Kita Menjalin Ukhuwah Islamiah” dibuka langsung oleh Rektor UMI, Masrurah Mochtar dan di hadiri oleh pejabat birokrasi kampus, serta elemen-elemen kepramukaan yang ada di Sulsel. Rektor UMI dalam sambutannya mengatakan bahwa dalam kegiatan pramuka merupakan salah satu cara untuk pembekalan karakter dalam diri generasi muda dalam menghadapi tantangan zaman serta menjadi ajang untuk menjalin silaturrahmi sesama insan insan pramuka yang ada di Sulawesi Selatan.
Seluruh peserta yang mulai berdatangan sejak jumat pagi mengaku sangat antusias menghadapi kompetisi serta akan menunjukan kemampuan serta bakat dalam hal kepramukaan dan juga seni. Dan dalam kompetisi ini peserta terjauh yakni ambalan dari Kabupaten Sidrap yang turut mengambil bagian dalam lomba tersebut.
Pada acara pembukaan yang bertempat di lapangan parkir UMI berlangsung sangat khidmat namun ada beberapa pemandangan yang kurang baik disebabkan banyak dari peserta upacara pingsan di tengah-tengah upacara namun dengan sigap panitia segera melakukan tindakan untuk menangani peserta yang pingsan.
Upacara pembukaan diakhiri dengan penyematan tanda peserta oleh Rektor UMI didampingi oleh Wakil Rektor III, Achmad Gani serta pembina dari UKM Pramuka Racana UMI.
