Solidaritas Mahasiswa UMI Desak Rektor UNKHAIR Cabut SK DO 4 Mahasiswa

Makassar, Cakrawakaide.com – Solidaritas Mahasiswa Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) mendesak rektor Universitas Khairun (Unkhair) Ternate, agar mencabut Surat Keputusan (SK) Drop Out (DO) terhadap empat Mahasiswa Unkhair yang dinilai secara sepihak.
Aksi solidaritas dalam bentuk lapak baca ini berlangsung di koridor depan Fakultas Pertanian, Kampus II UMI, Jl. Urip Sumoharjo, Rabu (15/1/2020).
Dalam SK D.O nomor 1860/UN44/KP/2019, yang dikeluarkan rektor Unkhair, Selasa (12/12/19) lalu. Menetapkan dan memberhentikan studi empat Mahasiswa, yaitu : Arbi M. Nur, Fahyudi Marsaoly, Fahrul Abdullah, dan Ikra Alkatiri. Mereka diberhentikan dengan alasan karena ikut berdemonstrasi mendukung kemerdekaan West Papua.
Pemberhentian tersebut menurut Arul, selaku Humas dari Solidaritas Mahasiswa UMI, sangat bertentangan dengan Pasal 6, huruf b, Undang-Undang nomor 12 Tahun 2012 tentang Perguruan Tinggi (UU PT).
Pasal 6 huruf b, berbunyi : “Pendidikan Tinggi harus diselenggarakan dengan prinsip : b). demokratis dan berkeadilan serta tidak diskriminatif dengan menjunjung tinggi Hak Asasi Manusia, nilai agama, nilai budaya, kemajemukan, persatuan, dan kesatuan bangsa”.
“Sudah sejatinya dalam UU No 12 Tahun 2012, kampus harus mencerminkan nila-nilai demokratis,” tegas Arul.
Mahasiswa Fakultas Hukum UMI itu juga menjelaskan bahwa terdapat kejanggalan dari alasan keluarnya SK D.O terhadap empat mahasiswa Unkhair tersebut. Keputusan pemberhentian bukan karena pelanggaran terhadap aturan kampus Unkhair, melainkan atas laporan POLRESTABES Ternate.
“Kampus justru mengakomodir kepentingan-kepentingan kepolisian dalam mempersempit ruang-ruang demokrasi,” tambahnya.
Di sisi lain, Atu salah satu yang tergabung dalam Solidaritas Mahasiswa UMI, berpendapat bahwa terdapat keanehan lain dalam SK D.O tersebut. Sebab empat mahasiswa Unkhair yang diberhentikan itu hanyalah memperingati ‘Independence Day West Papua’, Senin (2/12/2019), hal itu dinilai bukan perbuatan melawan hukum, dan juga tidak mengatasnamakan civitas akademika Unkhair.
“Di situ mereka tidak memakai nama kampus, melainkan atas nama aliansi yang menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai kemanusiaan,” tutup Atu.
