Tanggapi Keluhan Mahasiswa Soal BPP, WR III UMI: Tidak Ada Pemotongan

Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com – Mahasiswa Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) mengeluhkan terkait tidak adanya pemotongan Biaya Penyelenggaraan Pendidikan (BPP) pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Wakil Rektor (WR) III UMI bidang kemahasiswaan dan alumni Laode Husen menanggapi keluhan tersebut, Minggu (10/1/2021).
Salah satu mahasiswa UMI yang mengeluhkan terkait tidak adanya pemotongan BPP, Putra (bukan nama sebenarnya) menuturkan bahwa tidak adanya pemotongan BPP perlu diperjelas karena menurutnya kebijakan itu tidak adil. ia beralasan bahwa mahasiswa tidak dapat mengakses fasilitas kampus serta perkuliahan yang masih dilakukan secara virtual.
“Menurut saya ini tidak adil dan perlu diperjelas secara rasional. Kita tidak memperoleh kejelasan, serta ini bukan menjadi rahasia umum lagi mahasiswa UMI mempertanyakan soal tidak adanya pemotongan BPP di masa pandemi, fasilitas yang tidak digunakan, namun pembayaran tetap sama,” tutur mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Komputer ini.
Halnya yang sama diungkapkan Nurhidayat Mahasiswa Fakultas Pertanian. Menurutnya kebijakan kampus yang tidak memberikan potongan BPP justru timpang dan abai terhadap keluhan dari Mahasiswa.
“Menurut saya, pihak birokrasi sama sekali tidak peduli dengan keadaan dan situasi yang terjadi saat ini, kebijakan yang dibuat oleh kampus mengarah kepada kepentingan kampus bukan kepada kepentingan mahasiswa, seperti pembayaran BPP yang harus dibayar sedangkan fasilitas kampus tidak digunakan serta keadaan ekonomi sebagian mahasiswa yang terganggu,” ungkapnya.
Ia menambahkan agar pihak kampus bisa peka dan segera mengubah kebijakan yang diberlakukan dengan melihat kondisi mahasiswa saat ini.
“Saya berharap pihak kampus segera mengubah kebijakannya, paling tidak memotong biaya BPP atau bahkan saya berharap lebih dari pemotongan BPP yaitu secara gratis dengan melihat kondisi mahasiswa saat ini,” tutup Yayat sapaan akrabnya.
Saat dikonfirmasi oleh awak Cakrawalaide melalui telpon, WR III mengatakan untuk saat ini tidak ada kebijakan pemotongan BPP. ia juga menyinggung potongan BPP pada semester ganjil merupakan potongan untuk dua semester.
“Tidak ada pemotongan BPP. Bukan pemotongan sebenarnya, melainkan bantuan dan itu bukan per semester melainkan per tahun ajaran,” katanya.
Lanjut, WR III menyarankan untuk sementara menunggu kebijakan Universitas dan bantuan dari pemerintah karena kondisi keuangan universitas tidak stabil akibat pembayaran yang tidak penuh pada semester lalu. “Kondisi keuangan UMI saat ini sedang terseok-seok kita saling memahami saja (kampus dan mahasiswa) karena mahasiswa selama ini juga tidak membayar secara full,” tambahnya.
Andy salah satu mahasiswa fakultas hukum menanggapi peryataan WR III soal keuangan UMI yang saat ini tidak stabil perlu dibuktikan secara kongkrit dan transparan.
“Bicara soal uang itu harus kongkrit jumlah dan hitung-hitungnya. Pertanyaannya sekarang uang mahasiswa digunakan untuk apa selama perkuliahan daring? rata-rata kan fasilitas kampus tidak digunakan,” ungkapnya dengan curiga.
Lanjut, “selama tidak ada transparansi anggaran, pernyataan tersebut tidak bisa diverifikasi kebenarannya. Sah saja keluhan mahasiswa tanpa potongan BPP toh selama ini kan kita tidak tahu uangnya dikemanakan,” tutupnya.
